Positive: This is a very spacious, well-equipped, penthouse apartment in a great, and quiet, location 5 minutes walk from the beach and with easy access to Almeria and the National Park of Cabo de Gata. The owners, who happened to be living nearby on vacation in another apartment, were extremely helpful in sorting out the few teething problems encountered. The apartment has its own dedicated parking space in a secure underground garage beneath the block (lift from garage to apartment is convenient) as well as its own private roof terrace and access to a communal swimming pool and tennis court. A small convenience store is situated just across the road and cafes/restaurants are within 10/15 minutes walk.
Negative: The dedicated parking space is a bit tight - if renting a car, it might make sense to choose a smaller, rather than a larger, model. Despite what is stated in other reviews, the very helpful lady (Beli) who looks after the apartment for the owners, does not speak English but was able to arrange conversations with English-speaking relatives/friends if needed: if you do not speak Spanish get a voice-to-voice translation app on your phone.
